me and Tmike saw a lot of non-permit holders hunting the lil Naches and it was pretty upsetting...  of course I believe he drew it with only 5 points :bash:

Congrats on your bull!

Drew that tag 8 years ago for archery, only had one point at the time.  Had fun seeing lots of elk, got a nice 5 pt but the area is definitely mismanaged.  Every raghorn three point had cows with him.  Need to thin the cow herd a bit to get the big boys more aggressive and protective of their cows.  They also need to split the unit into either north/south or east/west units as all the hunting pressure seems to be in one area, I saw all of the other seven permit holders.  I was nice enough to push a huge 7X7 20 yards past one of them, good for him, sucked for me....

Wish I could have camped in there to get further from the road, I'd even be happy with no stove/fire rules.  I hope to get drawn for it again someday.

It would be nice if there was some way to keep all of the non-permit holders out of the area though, wish more gates would be locked on the non-private lands to keep the looky-lews and brush cutters out.  Or back-tag numbers, like WI does, to be able to ID people that should and shouldn't be there.

They also need to split the unit into either north/south or east/west units as all the hunting pressure seems to be in one area, I saw all of the other seven permit holders.

I have mentioned this to several friends.  I think they should split the Margret, Mudflow and Toutle hunts. They could hand out more tags and still give a guy a better hunt.

With my Mudflow hunt I noticed the same thing most of the hunters ended up int the same erea. For example if you split the Mudflow hunt North and South of the River they would both be great hunts. Rather than take nearly all the animals from one small part of the unit. I believe it would help manage the units better.

Is the taste of the bait worth the sting of the hook twice?

Congrats on a successful hunt!!!!!!!!!  Can not wait to see the pics.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

It is if you can get up into the East side of the unit, without fear of being snowed in.
