Family Tree (buck style)
« on: November 14, 2009, 09:53:10 AM »
I photographed this buck 5-6 years ago.

then photographed this one within 100 yards of the same spot yesterday.  Kinda cool to think I might have watched him from seed.

I took two weeks off to hunt (photograph) since I didn't draw a tag.  I was going to hit Oregon and Montana, but so far having too much fun "local".  Problem is I am Coaching basketball for two teams and have practices to deal with and games.  Throw in some stomache bugs and frozen pipes (birds), and it hits the vacation fairly hard.
(there are benefits of shootig your deer opening morning with that multiseason tag.  You don't have to spend all your time tromping in the Swakane)

Ok here's a dummie question. How can you tell that is the son of the first buck?
It is hard to follow one great vision in a world of darkness and of many changing shadows. Among these shadows men get lost.

I can't for sure.  Definatly the same genetics some where along the line.  Check out his eyeguards.  In this particular area, lots of eyeguards.  Same weak backs and fronts swing around and up.   Just characteristics.  Remember that every animal is only 50% of his Dad.   It was cool that it was within 100 yards of the previous buck.  I almost thought same deer(just for a second) until I thought about that was 5 or 6 years ago.
