european deer mount: lets see yours!
« on: November 17, 2009, 06:24:04 PM »
i just finished doing a european mount on my deer from this year. Was kinda curious on what kind of pedistal or plaque i should put it on. Also wanted to see how mine looks in comparison with yours since it is my first one. Would love to see pictures of your guys euro mounts!
Thanks guys

i like that plaque. And what did you put on the skull to make it look so shiny?

The skull is actually one of the synthetic skulls.  I cut it for a traditional mount before I decided I wanted it as a European so I bought one of the kits and had the horns put into it. Then painted it all white and I believe it is a gloss white and that is why it is shiny.

wastickslinger ....  Thank you so much for posting that.  I absolutely love that look and I am thinking that is what I want for my next mount.  Where did you get the wood stand if you don't mind me asking?

Dad made me a few(one stained dark and one light). I told him he needs to patten it and sell them. I could take orders.  :chuckle:

Your dad does good work I would think he would be able to sell some of them.  Yeah a little bigger would fit nicely in that opening...

My first BT.  Went with the aged barn plank look.  Did it by opening up two eye bolts out of the garage and putting a little angle bend on them.  wastickslinger your dad did an awesome job, I think I'm gonna ask my dad for some father-son carpentry time and learn to make one similar.

My first one I did it myself. It's my archery buck from this year. Going down to Central Oregon desert this winter to look for a pedestal of sorts to mount it on. Hopefully will find a nice Burl or Burnt snag to put it on.
