Got the mulie in Id. Spotted him with another small buck up in a basin about a mile away...put the sneak on him, got up to the top just as they crossed over to the north side of the ridge...had him in the scope a few times around 200 yards, but no good shot. Followed them onto the north side of the ridge, and jumped them at about 40 yards...ooops! Gave them a little grunt and layed over my pack...broadside shot at 140 yards....after 180 grains of love from the 300 weatherby, he took two steps and fell over....got him out in one very heavy backpack trip, about 7 miles...
Got the whitetail in N.E. wa. We had an awsome "guide" let us hunt his private property and showed us a lot of nice ground and some nice bucks...Wifey spotted this guy at about 300 yards just after light chasin two does...took a shot and shot just a little low, clean miss, we followed up in the snow. Hunted around for a couple of hours and dropped down into a swampy area were the buck had dissappeared into earlier...spotted him with a doe behind a tree and gave him 130 grains of love from her 270 Allen at a an amazing long range of 28 yards! It's her first whitetail, and she got it on her birthday...pretty cool day. The last pic is of a buck I spotted from the back porch that just might taste a 125 grain thunderhead next week!
