Montana combo
« on: November 20, 2009, 02:17:15 PM »
Just returned from a montana combo hunt. Our group of six took 6 bucks and so far three bulls.
I hope when I die my wife doesn't sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them.

Looks like fun..
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Just got word from the other guys in camp, there on there way back also. Tried to fill 3 more bull tags, but no luck. We hunted out of white sulpher with an outfitter. Heres the buck I got, he's 23 wide (the best of the 6.) All the deer were taken on the same day from 11:00 to 5:00. Pretty awesome. I shot my bull on day 4, he was with one bigger bull but all I could see was his back and it was getting dark so I went with this guy. One shot from 460 yrds. Dead before he hit the ground. Hit him with a high shoulder shot and a 168 grn berger. Now that was cool.
