The basin is holding good counts for geese, but they have been harassed a lot as usual. As for ducks, the northerns haven't made it down here yet so its pretty slow. Should be picking up here real soon though with the weather they got up north.
I have been there the past two weekends and limited out. Last saturday was tough do to the high winds. Then sunday had some snow no wind and it was on. Done by nine with three guys. And at one point over the refuge looked like a million birds comming and going!
o good info. I thought that area across from the boat launch on winchester wasteway on dodson was public land..... if you are talking about the area up north a ways i think that is private.....

It's all fenced off. Most of the land west of Dodson is private/leased mix land.

Most of the land west of Dodson is private/leased mix land. interesting because there is a green cattle gate across form the boat launch that has a wdfw public hunting sign on it and its wierd... you just have to close the gate behind you..... the stuff up north of there further is leased....
