I was wondering if anyone has been hunting out here at all or if anyone knew how the hunting has been? How are the numbers of birds in the area and what species? How are the goose hunts going? Anyone doing any good set up on water not just the fields?

with the weather we had move through it pushed alot of birds out and the birds we have around still have been around for awhile and have seen alot of decoys and heard alot of calling. but if we get some cold weather up north to move new birds down it should pick up.

The basin is holding good counts for geese, but they have been harassed a lot as usual. As for ducks, the northerns haven't made it down here yet so its pretty slow. Should be picking up here real soon though with the weather they got up north.

depending on what the weather dose up north hopefully it will. but as all thanksgiving weekend hunts go, if you are hunting public ground its going to be a zoo. hopefully the privat ground im hunting will work out.

Geese are think but ducks are very very slim.  I think you can shot some ducks but it will not be a barn burner by any means.  Good luck.

I have been there the past two weekends and limited out. Last saturday was tough do to the high winds. Then sunday had some snow no wind and it was on. Done by nine with three guys. And at one point over the refuge looked like a million birds comming and going!
