Blacktail doe
« on: November 21, 2009, 10:17:35 PM »
Spent the last three days hunting my butt off.  Deer sign everywhere but only saw four deer before today.  All were does, one was in the dark on the way in and the others were a doe with this years fawns.  Hunters were everywhere.  I called the game warden on some guys on four wheelers and a couple hunters with rifles in a firearm restricted unit.  He ticketed all of them.   :chuckle:
Saw thousands of geese in this field early in the day.

Had these fly over me.  They are quieter than I would think choppers this size should be.

And with about five minutes of hunting light left, my dad and I came across this doe.  00 buckshot to the ribs at about twenty yards.  Just saying no tracking was needed.  She isnt a buck and she isnt a giant but she will taste fantastic.

Were those geese between Yelm and Rainier on 507 by any chance?

No.  Brush Prairie, WA, near Vancouver.  There were also a ton of crows and seagulls out there as well.  I dont know what was so attractive to them all but there was a lot of them.

Yep painted it myself.  Don't tread On Me!!!  I have killed a lot of animals with this gun.  I think the paint job is lucky.   :chuckle: :chuckle:

Here is a how-to if you wanna give it a try.
