Got a Keeper..
« on: November 23, 2009, 05:26:58 PM »
No it's not a big buck.. It's my 12 year old son Luke. His 15 year old brother shot a trophy bt on the last day of the early season. Pic on page 3 or 4 subject need help. so it was just me and Luke the 4 days of the late hunt. Every morning Luke was in my room 15 min. before my alarm went off asking me are you ready to go huntin. He was dressed and had gotten himself somthing to eat and was ready to go. The weather was cold windy rainy and snow. Not once did Luke complain about being cold wet hungery. I walked him miles on end and he was right by my side from sun up till sun down. He set in the rain and wind for hours on end in my honey holes with out moving or saying a word. the Kid loves to hunt with his dad more then anything. If I could mount the four days I had with my son in the woods hunting it would be the nices trophy on the wall by far. Its not always about killing it's more about the time together for me anyways. We have always done well in the field but I stress to my boys there is more to it then the killing of a deer or elk. Hope you all had a great year hunting and for the one's that are eating tag soup it's OK. Its the time in the woods that realy matter the most..

Congratulations on a fine trophy and for your work as a father getting him there.

Sounds like you have done an A1 job raising them boys to be excellent hunters.  Congratulations!!!
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

It truly is the hunt not the harvest that makes the season. Sometimes I am glad that not everyone understands what it is all about, or EVERYONE would be out doing it ;). Way to go Dad!

Great write-up and pictures. Your boy looks like a fine young man. Those memories will last forever. My dad took me hunting many times and never got anything. But I'll always remember those trips and the great times we had out in the mountains.
