« on: November 23, 2009, 05:46:09 PM »
Well took a friend of mine out to my uncles dairy to get him his first bird with a bow. It took 4 shoot thru out the morning but we got 1 at 8:30 at 12 yards out of a ground blind.

Nice bird, looks like the kind of weather you want on a good Thanksgiving day.

Congrats to your friend

Good looking bird and congrats on doing it with a bow!!  We had a few chances last spring with a bow but we went 0 for three on our shots!!   :dunno:

maybe i'm missing something obvious here, but I didn't realize that there was a late turkey season open that late for bows. how late is it open?

There are 3 seasons in this state (and when a turkey season is open it's legal to use either shotgun and/or bow only as mentioned earlier):

Spring - April 15th thru May 31st (there is also an earlier weekend youth only prior to the general start)

Early Fall - Usually a two week period that spans the end of Sept. into Oct. and only in parts of eastern Washington

Late Fall - Units 105 thru 124 only (NE corner of the state) - 1 either sex bird - Nov 20 thru Dec 15.

Best to read the Spring Turkey and the Fall Hunting regs for dates and areas open, what weapons are legal, etc.

Anyone going out between now and the end of the season?  If you do let us know how you do!   :)
