Yeah, I sent him to place I knew was illegal to hunt, then I get on here and bring it to the forfront again, really?

No, I was down in that draw and the GW kept driving back and forth (harrassing me) and I second guessed myself, so I came back up the edge where the property line was.  I was worried I had missunderstood the map with him acting so strange up there (although I didn't know who it was).  I came back up in the dark and accidentally walked to the other side of that 20yards of fence.

The GW did spook a decent buck that was working his way toward me.   :bash:

Glad you are okay, sounds like confusion on the location.

Sounds like an honest mistake, I am genuinely glad you are okay though, something sure felt bad about the whole situation. I know the game wardens there, they patrol the area pretty heavily because of poachers. For the most part they are pretty nice guys, even help drag deer up out of that hole on occassion for friends of mine.

glad to hear that you are O.K.
Sorry to hear about a trespassing ticket for being on the wrong side of the fence.

I'm sure they are nice guys.  Just wish they weren't so zealous...  not to mention wish our country would stop using case law to teach them it is ok to break the constitution.

I shouldn't have panicked when I saw him stalking me....  Live and learn.

So did you hire a lawyer in Montana to fight them off?

No, I got lucky.

I went and plead guilty just to get it over with since I technically did treespass.

He asked my why I thought I was guilty.  Then, I think the judge saw all kinds of problems when I told him what happened.  He was getting mad (maybe mad isn't the right word... maybe disgusted?) even when I didn't expect him to.   I just got lucky really.

So did you hire a lawyer in Montana to fight them off?

Like they say, I'd take lucky over being good anyday.   Glad it worked out.

None, I just waited until the court date.  Ruined my trip, but I wasn't about to come back.

So as I've never been dinged for trespassing I was wondering if they take you tag or just issue a citation?

How much $$ was the ticket?
