Roads have not been too bad. Slick and icy, but some of the snow has melted off.  We did not need chains the past few days.  Bad thing is most of the snow is crunchy, and stalking was a pain.  Way too noisy.  Did not see any shooter bucks the two days I was up there.

Isn't funny that some one with 3 post has the balls to say "stay on your side".  LMAO......really, grow up.  There are a ton of nice deer everywhere this time of year.  Unfortunately there are also a ton of hunters.  Get off the roads and hike, glass and hike some more....Good Luck.

his 1st post was asking for help...good luck with that.

we saw lots of small bucks in the swakane...lots of people and a little snow down into the canyon that is probably all but gone in there now. lots of people...did i say that?
saw 2 shooter bucks in 3 days, 1 nice 4x4 killed and thats about it. 30-40 deer a day, tons of little 2x2's and spikes.
unfortunately all the hunters got crammed into one week of season this year, which really made it crowded. aside from that it was a great weekend.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I really like this site and its for people that have been helpful and not insecure dirt bags. I really dont like to deal with dudes that talk a bunch of crap but when you see them in their boxers they look as if they've never hiked a mole hill and cant even do 5 pull-ups. I see enough of these types of dudes in the gym. But thank you to those that are good sports about it.

First 3 days went well, saw at least one nice shooter each day but not shot opportunites.  New snow was nice but since it warmed up, things have gone downhill.  Only saw one buck yesterday, little 2x2 at about 1000 yards.  Fog was THICK down low, went high and snow was icy, read very crunchy and noisy.  Even though a little discouraged that I never filled my tag yet, I did see one of the largest bucks I've ever seen in season.  He was a perfect 4x4 that was pushing the upper limits of the 20" range.  First words I said to myself were, "Oh my god".  Hopefully Sunday and Monday we can scratch up a shooter.  Roads up high sucked yesterday.  Had chains on and still hard to keep the truck on the road in some places. Be careful.
