Figured since I didn't really share any photos with anyone of my last year's buck I'd stick him in this thread as well... seeing as he's also my biggest, and I hadn't had an opportunity to show him off! For my Christmas present last year I came home from college to find my parents had him European mounted for me... pretty neat treat!

Now I know I posted a few of these photos in the Ladies' board, but figured they were worth sharing just in case someone hadn't taken a peek. Both animals were taken within a few miles from each other; its always nice to have that special place. :)
The boyfriend also tagged out the last few years but I'm trying to talk him into getting his own account so he can share his own stories. On the last day of general modern rifle season we helped guide a pal of mine into a great buck too, and its just too nice not to share also!

This year's:

Last year's:

And my pal's...

Thanks for taking a look!

Nice mulies, congrats. It's always cool to see women your age so interested in hunting. Seems like a lot of college students lose interest in hunting.

I have to admit, since starting to hunt at age 7 I've only missed 2 hunting seasons and ate my deer tag once, and they were my freshman/sophomore/junior years of college. It definitely gets tough; hard to plan/get the proper time dedicated to hunting in that situation. Luckily, graduation saves not only money, but time for the more important (and tasty) things in life. :)

Now if only my muzzleloader elk season over on the westside would be so fruitful! :)

Very cool
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Thanks! I had a little more time to enjoy the moment this year, hence time to get a photo in the field... last year, it was the final day of the season and I had to get back to Seattle for a midterm on Monday. (Tsk tsk to those professors... did they NOT know it's hunting season over here??)

Yeah, I hear the forcast is pretty grim for us; they opened all the forest roads that are normally closed in our GMU, so the elk are pushed back into the darkest/thickest parts of the country... here's to stompin' it out anyways! :)

Thanks! As funny as it is to say, I think the thing that I love most about all those animals is my deer from this season's Roman nose.. if ever I was tempted to do a full mount that face would've done it. I've seen bigger horns but I have yet to see such a pretty face. :)
