Blacktail 2007
« on: November 27, 2009, 11:04:05 PM »
This is my biggest Blacktail Oct. 20 11amB&C 138   i hiked up into the bush, and the way I was taught to hunt was called hunting the terrain,I was looking ahead and picking out the route i would take. I don't know if I can communicate in words what i'm trying to say by trying to type, sorry learning disability. I was studying the route I was going to take through the salmon berries when I heard a buck grunt, I looked to my right and spotted an eye then an ear then an  antler. I watched for what seemed a long time the buck shook the water off him like a dog, he turned and I took the shot.I started over to where he was last and started in the direction I figured he would take he did'nt go far and when I walked up to him my thought was what have I done. He got bigger the closer I got.Rifle BLR Browning 243 100gr. Nosler Partitions 2.5-8 Leupold. I'v weighed most of my deer unfortunatly this one came out in pieces, but based on my experience this deer was in the 300lb club.Whatcom co. Hes on the wall with 8 of his brothers.
