Nice buck!  I shot a doe with the barnes 290ez on friday.  It went straight threw.  I have never seen a deer bleed like a circle end gun before.  Where did you hit your buck?  Did you recover a bullet? I'd like to see that.

i didn't get the bullet from the deer it went all the way threw the deer. usaully i test bullets on froze milk jugs water jugs or wood before the season. but i have shot the expander barnes threw my 454 casull for a long time and they are almost twin except for the tip, my uncle did shoot his 250g tmz into a block of wood which we split and got it out, just like i tought it was perfect expansion with weight retension, out of a starting weight of 250 the bullet weighed 246 grains all that was lost was a bit of the plastic tip. great bullets i like them a lot.

thats a cva elkhorn its my go to gun i have had 4 muzzleloaders and its the best shootin. i also shoot a black diamond xr but the cva out shoots it not by much but a little and is a great easy to maintain gun. the sight is after market. it is made by truglo it is a globe sight that has a really small front pin with like a foot of wraped fiber optic around the front. cabelas sells them 50.00 best 50 i have spent in a long time bought it last year and has really shrunk my group size. put ine on my black diamond xr this year also. i also like the fact that the peep in the back has 2 truglo pins on each side to help line up the front sight. most like the williams i used to shoot you just hold the front red pin in the middle of a black hole. this is much better. its under the sights for muzzleloader in cabelas.

Carp,
Looks like a great place to hunt.  Love the open country.  You and the "Old Reliable" Elkhorn and peep sight put the big whack attack on that one.  Nice pictures and great job.
