What's with the orange vest?
« on: November 30, 2009, 12:07:17 PM »
I was out elk hunting in 352 last week.  I saw a Geo Trakker with two orange vest hunters in it.  What's the deal?  Am I missing something here?  I thought it was bow only during this time of the year.  I didn't want to try and ask.  My friend also heard gun shot.

They may just not want to take any chances. . . There is no orange requirement over here in Idaho but I see guys during all seasons wearing orange.  :dunno:

They might just be out for a walk and want to be seen.

My question is this!  Why do people/ hunters wear orange while they are driving a rig?  TRUE blooded road hunters is my only conclusion.  Ready to jump out and fire down the road or run kamakazee (bad spelling too) style through the brush, it must be as I can't see them being afraid of being shot standing in the road much less next to their truck (possibly engine still running).

Anyone??? :dunno:

It's just the color of their clothing. Why take it on and off all the time?
