Naw he was talking to me.  The 7.62 X39 (mini 30) is balisticly similar to a 30-30.  Wonder if I could make some smokin hot loads for it.

:yike:  :bdid: I would seriously advise against doing that. The bolts on the MIni's are weak and you will end up breaking it. About  the only way to fix it is to send it to Ruger and they will be very happy to charge a butt load of money to fix it. Then it will only break again. The design of the MIni does not allow for hot rodding of ammo, it's an all cast gun, that is why they are cheap to make. I would purchase 10 bolt guns before dumping money into a MIni.  Yes , I've had several, still have one left, never shoot it, don't want to.

Buy an AR and live happy.

You can modify an AR until your tongue turns blue and you will still never have all of the options.

In my experience with mini's (14's not 30's) they are pretty bad in the accuracy department out of the box.  We had them in my old department (someone before me decided they would be a good idea cuz they didn't look evil).  Out of all of them we had 1 that was accurate out of the box.  It was a tack driver, however the others were dismal at best and some were like rolling dice on where the round would hit.  We finally got rid of them playing the liability card on round accountability and went with AR's.  Everyones Qual scores immediately shot through the roof.

Yes they sure do, I have one and it functions awesome. I've killed 5 muley bucks and several coyotes with it. Feeds everything from 55gr to 100 grain bullets without any problems.

Yep, it's the baseline entry level AR and it will do just fine setup properly.

Oly arms had a couple bad years, but everything before and after has been A.O.K.  We bought a couple during that time that had bad headspace issues, they were fixed with no problem.  Of course have a couple bad years and word gets passed around that your the suck.

Speaking of which I have an old Oly that I was thinking about trying for yotes.  Problem is its a A2 upper with handle so any suggestions on scope mounting options.  The rest of the parts are all high end including a Hbar match grade 16 inch barrel.  It's a oldie but a goodie.

Thats the flat top model. Thats an awesome deal and those guys are good to deal with also. It would be worth putting a couple away just for an investment.
I think you know where the store is right?
