Tagged Out on Late Archery

Well it was worth not hunting the early archery season this year and holding out for the late season. There were a ton of grouse this year though so it made it a little less painfull.
My hunt started off with a 5 hour drive from college straight to deer camp. I got into camp the night before the opener and hit the sack. I woke up in the dark Saturday morning and me and my hunting partner headed out to our spot we wanted to hunt. This year we had a little bit of snow so we decided to hunt a little lower in the sage brush since we were betting that the bucks might already be low. It seemed to pay off since we were seeing legal bucks right off the bat. Nothing worth sticking an arrow in opening morning though. At about ten we spotting my buck working 3 does around the hill we were spotting off of. We made an attempt to get in front of him and it worked perfectly because he came right around the hill like we had wanted! My mathews sent one express and i gave him a parking ticket right where he was standing. He probably only went 25-30 yards. The first three pics are of my buck, the next two are of my buddy's deer. We killed his on Sunday since almost all of Saturday was spent dealing with my deer. The sixth pic is off another buddy's deer with a cool rack. He shot his out of a tree stand which was cool because you don't hear a lot about hunting mule deer out of tree stands. The last picture is with our three deer together.
