Well we spotted another herd this morning bedded down on an alder ridge about a mile away. So we have to drive about 3 miles around to plan an attack. There was a big blondie parked right in the middle of a pile of elk. We were able to sneak through the reprod to within 200-250 yds straight across the canyon from them. Above them and to the left there was a nice saddle with a spur running down the left side. My partner ran me around to the beginnig of the spur and went back to the reprod patch in hopes of movig them in my direction. Well it almost worked but they crossed below the landing in the thick stuff heading for a new clearcut. I have decided after this mornigs run and yesterdays run that I will not be a smoker much longer

. Caught them again crossing the bottom of the new clearcut and then sidehilling across from me at about 150yds. My partner saw 2 legals but I didnt see them. I then proceded to hunt the patch of timber they were heading towards. About 200 yds in on an old skid road mother nature had laid the timber down like pixie sticks. It was a great morning in the woods without a shot fired. Just thought I would share. Now I have to put up a tree and lights
