Restoring Elk Skull and Antlers
« on: November 22, 2009, 07:29:25 PM »
Have a very nice west side 5x5 we would like to clean up. Skull is green with light moss and antlers fading a bit. Any ideas on how to make this look presentable ?
Can't we all just get along?

Scrub the green off, and then you want to degrease it. Then whiting the skull. With pure white and hydrogen peroxide, make it into a paste and put it on and then once dry, brush it off. As for the horns there are a lot of things you can use or try, I use a couple of different stains when I color mine back in. Hope this helps you..
