Late Season Archery Doe Success
« on: December 05, 2009, 07:00:04 PM »
Well I had a multi-season tag for deer this year and hunted a little in September alot in October and alot in November. Unfortunately I was unable to locate a buck of my standards and the wife was getting a little testy lately (not much, she is actually quite understanding) so I whacked a nice doe at exactly 70 yards today. She was nice enough to give me 3 attempts at it. :dunno: :bash: I knew my 60 was spot on and was not that comfortable with my 70 so I used my 60 high and shot right over twice. The third smashed right through her front shoulder and she only went about 50 yards.

That's awesome. I too have multi-season and am done passing up bucks or any deer for that matter. Spent today in the skok and got 74 yards from two does, just didn't feel comfortable shooting that far. Way to practice hard and get er done

I know it's just a doe and not a monster buck...but when I got home my 5 y.o. son thought I was the coolest 8) hunter ever.

Well done. I hunted sunup to sundown 4 days in the Grayback.Saw lots of deer and good bucks. None of which I could get close to.  Ground was like walking on Rice Krispies. I hung up and went home empty handed. At least you had the chance to knock one down. Nice photo.

Thanks for the compliment on the photo. My buddies were know where around so I used the tripod and the timer. Battery went dead after that photo.  ;)

Way to go Highside! If you'd shot her an hour earlier I would have still been up there to help you out!
Shut up and Hunt!
