when I am shooting, my shell will not eject all the way out when i pull the pump down... pretty frustrating.....  I have an 870. definately going to get the 887 nitro mag soon.

are you short stroking it?

That made me laugh. I don't know why?   :chuckle:

Yep.

Winchester super x2.  Gun shoots one of every 5 shots.  Otherwise I just get a click and a light dent on the primer :bash:

Bought a SBEII and haven't looked back.

thats odd... id get a hold of winchester. iv had mine for 6 years, thousands of rounds through it and have never once had a misfire or a jam. i do keep it in tip top shape though, always cleaned and lubed, every time i shoot it.

no... cause when I have to stop to hand pull the empty shell out it is all the way back.. I wonder if I am pulling back and going back forward too fast?

More likely that you're not pulling back far enough. That is common.

As far as being too fast, I know guys that shoot nearly as fast with 870 pump as guys can with an 1100 semi-auto.

If you're shooting hand loads, there could be a feed/eject issue. There are much more knowledgable folk on here regarding shotie's, but cycling the action 'too fast' is not something I would think is the issue.

Second time I have broken a component on the gun.

Anyone selling a Benelli SBEII.  I think I am going to pick up another one for a back up.

That's an awfully espensive shottie to be breaking parts on. And needing a backup for.

Tell me about it.  That gun should not be breaking.  The second time I broke the slide mechanism inside the breach the guy at Benelli, said I should not be breaking it?  I know, just loading it and pulling the trigger.  I clean it everyday after shooting it.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

Got 3 870's in the house. Not an issue with any of them... OK, not many rounds through one of them. I had a different 870 for many years. Ony issue was a broken firing pin. Happens with 870's I guess.

I had a problem last year with my mossburg 835 I bought this gun new the first year they came out its seen alot of shoothing. I was goose hunting and my first shot fired just fine, but when I went to cycle another round in the two in the magazine just fell out on the ground,so I reloaded and tried again and the same thing happened, that gun is retired and I will be shoping for a new gun soon
chuck
I had a problem with my 835 only once.  Pulled up on some woodies that I jumped and the damn safety was stuck. that was a short day.  I replaced the safety and have never had a problem with it since.

Are you shooting 3" shells in a gun only chambered for 2 3/4"?

I have a 1953 870 wingmaster in 16gauge that I bought for 75 bucks.  Hands down my favorite gun, thing is super reliable.

I also have a savage 64F that I bought new.  Friggin thing misfires or jams everytime unless the action is spotless clean.
