Has your gun ever gone to crap in the field???
«

Went out Saturday morning and shot my first few ducks. Went to pull up on another duck and the stock had spun slightly, okay. Pulled up on the next and the stock slid off. I have a Benelli SBEII. I tried to place the stock back on, but it wasn't holding. Pulled the stock off and the cycling tube had cracked at the end towards the butt pad. All the threads were stripped out. I ran back home, grabbed the pump gun. Missed my next few birds, then got back on target and finished out my limit. Anyways I went through the Cabela's catalog and they had what I needed. Ordered up the SRM Performance Stainless Steel Cycling System. Should improve performance it sounds like and hopefully fix the problem. Second time I have broken a component on the gun.
Went out this morning and shot my Nova and did good on the mallards. Shooting the pump until the part shows up.

I have the same gun and never had a problem. Let us know how the SRM Performance Stainless Steel Cycling System works out. Currious to see if it is worth it.

Yeah I have had it happen to me a few times. Not necessarily as serious as the stock falling off, but my Benelli M2 fails to cycle properly sometimes.
Its like the bolt doesnt fully lock after the first shot so i get a "boom" and then a "click" the next time I pull the trigger. I usually dont have this problem unless it gets dirty/gummed up but it did it to me once this weekend and I had recently given it a strip down cleaning. Luckily it only did it once but I still dont understand why it happens.

Never that badly. Had an 870 when I was a kid, gun jammed, unscrewed the barrel cap and the sping went jumping into the netherworld, had to shoot single shot the rest of the day.

I even called the Benelli to see if some of the factory loads were to hot for the gun as things were starting to break, but they said it would handle all factory loads. They might have to change some things up once these new loads come out for 2010 that are pushing over 1700 fps. We will see how many autos start having issues.

I had a problem last year with my mossburg 835 I bought this gun new the first year they came out its seen alot of shoothing. I was goose hunting and my first shot fired just fine, but when I went to cycle another round in the two in the magazine just fell out on the ground,so I reloaded and tried again and the same thing happened, that gun is retired and I will be shoping for a new gun soon

They found out that speed kills with steel shot. In the past it seemed anytime you loaded steel any hotter than 1700-1750 fps your patter went to hell. With all the new shot wads coming out for steel it has allowed the wad to stick with the shot longer and hold a tighter pattern, so you don't get crazy spreads. You will start to see more solid forward wad cups similar to the BlackCloud that are modified versions in the future. They seem to pattern fairly well. I touched off a round at duck a little to soon and I had to pull the wad out of the duck. The Black Cloud wad stuck it like a cookie cutter or was stuck in the shot hole.
