Side of the State
« on: December 07, 2009, 09:38:13 PM »
it sure seems like there is a lot more people hunting on the westside since I have been over here but maybe it is just because it is in a smaller area than the eastside?

I like em both. East for elk, and west for everything else.

I used to prefer the east side, but since the property that we used to shoot is now a Pacific Wing property I last was told I don't head over much.  Been doing great on the west side, so no reason to travel.  I do miss seeing the huge flocks of ducks.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I like to hunt both sides. But growing up and living on the westside, I hunt it more.   :)
Hunting and Fishing is not what I do. But who I am...

ya I am really liking the duck hunting on the westside now that I am over here for school and have hunted 2 times and have seen a lot of birds both times.

Wetside for elk, Eastside for everything else.  I am going to have to buy a damn hybrid though the gas costs are killing me since I moved over here.

Wait till you get on a late mallard corn field shoot in the basin...changes you're perspective on "a lot of birds".

Eastside all the way for me.  I love stubble hunting mallards, pintails, and honks.  Can't beat the columbia for mixed bag of divers and puddlers.

I'm lucky if I get taken :chuckle:

My office partner knows all the people so me, him, our boss, and a guide friend usually hit the fields a few times.  Really helps having an experienced guide in the blind with ya!

I'm on the left, goose hunt last year.  We were in the field 500 yards from my partners house :P  Woke up, blasted honkers for a few hours, walked home for coffee and bfast then to the duck field!

Yes that's Zehnder.  He guides on the Columbia in the winter.  He's a great guy and has a ton of knowledge.  I had a lot of fun hunting the stubble with him last year.  My office partner is real god friends with him.  His dog is a freakin brute!
