I was working last night and 8 police in three cars stopped by the station last night to see if we could help them get their cars washed for the memorial. They are from the Bay Area and drove straight thru. Their cars were dirty. We helped them wash all there cars and get them shinned up. ( we made a ice rink in the parking lot from the water freezing. But it was worth it )They were a great bunch of guys.

I was at the Memorial all day today. Incredible event. Very encouraging to see all the support from around the country, plus Canada.

Honor guards from around the nation stood at attention for over an hour and a half in the below 20degree weather, respectfully waiting for the fallen officers families to arrive and enter the facility. Cops without thermals from California, Florida, and all over the nation.

The memorial was incredible. The most moving part for me is near the end when dispatch calls out for each officer, with no answer. Tearjerker.

I was parked two block from the Lakewood police station and seen all 3,000 cars and trucks go by .
and it was the most tearful thing to see . bless the  4 officers that lost their lives.

These officers deserve to be honored and have a decent burial.
However in these times I question the expense. I can easily guess conservatively it will be in excess of a million. They had one for some fallen firefighters that was over 100 vehicles it was reported as costing over $100,000. That's a lot of public safety money.

Prob'ly so. I'm so old school that few of you could relate. Constitution, and all of that. Pity that, but so be it. This *censored*ry has become what you new-fangled pot-smoking troglodytes've made it. I do like to hunt, though, but I suppose that's irrelevant compared to all else? This'll be proof of that, I reckon?

Have any of you ever camped in the snow in a tipi in the rain forest and climbed the hills for days and finally killed an elk with a flintlock?

Prob'ly not. I'm sure that's reason alone to ban me.

wow that's quite an accomplishment, you spent a few days in the woods and killed an elk with a muzzle loader.Oh in a tent to.All the old schoolers I know have respect for the dead.Much like the Indians did.You would get the same response from the old real mountain men also, as you are here.what breed of horse did you ride from seattle to the rain forest..Perhaps you could make a bow from scratch and kill an antelope. You've done nothing more in my mind then to disgrace those whom you wish you could be like..

Us ‘new-fangled pot-smoking troglodytes?’
I think you’d be hard-pressed to find a drug abuser on these boards.  If you want to come here and talk about you living in a tipi tent in some rainforest and climbing hills for days and days and finally killing an elk with a flintlock (which, by the way, many of us  here have done), then go right ahead.

But with your disrespectful attitude towards the officers who were senselessly slain while on duty, you may want to find another place to spread your bull*hit.

So I pose a question to you much like you have us.  Have you ever picked up a rifle and defended this country against the enemies who would have sawed off your head without a second thought about it?  Or have you ever strapped on a pistol and a badge and gone to work, not knowing if you’re going to come home that night or not?
Probably not.  And that in itself is no reason to ban you, but you find yourself joining a very patriotic group here, and your disrespect is not welcome here.  Take it somewhere else.

If you don't stand behind the troops, please feel free to stand in front of us.
