Quincy Wildlife Area
« on: December 08, 2009, 02:59:12 PM »
I was wondering if anyone has been hunting around the quincy lakes? If so how has it been or are they all frozen now? I know the gates are normally locked but are they this year?

Guarantee they are 100% froze right now with this latest cold front.  They freeze pretty quick as they aren't that deep.

You may call him a friend but not just "friends" can read this thread. Perhaps I have my eye on the quincy lakes now?  :dunno:

well not all, if u go the back way along the canal and then cut in by the power poles u will find a pond to the left by a big tree that is still open and holding a bunch of birds, just south of evergreen.

Aww man don't tell the whole world about that little hole :chuckle:

Lotsa quail in that general area too.

But if Im a jerk, I dont think you would consider me a friend. I'd be real dissapointed... Not.
Stop whining about it. You need to get out on your own and scout some places when you get back instead of internet scouting all the time. Someone who I know is very well inclined with duck hunting has told me a couple spots to go down there, but I dont think he would want the entire state of Washington to know. Therefore Im not going to tell you on a website. Now I might not even tell you in person.

You can learn a lot on the internet, its a great resource. Ive met a few people and learned a great deal about getting into the waterfowling game.

The more you browse forums you will notice some people post pictures with the background blacked/whited out, or limited background in their pictures. They are not being pricks, they are just being courteous to their hunting partners and dont want their spots overrun.  Asking for hunting spots can be a sensitive subject. Most people are willing to help, but at the same time nobody wants to shoot themselves in the foot.  :twocents:
