Cougar question
« on: December 08, 2009, 10:03:11 PM »
Was out archery elk in eastern Washington this weekend and I have hunted the same area for many years, usually see 2 or 3 sets of cat tracks each season, this year we saw 9 different sets of tracks in 3 days. My question is what is an average track for a cat? I found a set that are 5 inches across they are by far the biggest I have ever seen.

I have a cat tag for Stevens/Pend Oreille Counties, do you mind sharing in a PM where you've seen the cat tracks?

P.S. cat size is better determined by stride not so accurate with cat track size.

Cat tracks can be ginormous.  5 inches really isn't that big, but Machias is right.  Small cats can have big feet but big cats have BIG feet. LOL
