Invisible Fence

Well, I went and bought a system.  I have half of it buried but unfortunately I'm not blocking off the entire yard so I have to run another next to the first and tie into the other to make a double looped sytem.  I'll have one wire 3-4ft before the fence and the other on the fence so hopefully that should do the trick.  I'll let everyone know how it works for me after I get it finished and the initial training is done.  Won't be able to get back to it until saturday, I'm hoping for soft ground when I get back!  Thanks for all the advice.

I have an Innotek SD3000. I love it. It only takes an adult lab about a day to train on. We have over 3 acres fenced and I can't imagine life without it. One thing that I never do is bury the wire. It allows me to move the boundary anytime I want to and if there is a break in the wire it's a lot easier to find

IMHO they are garbage. They worked for my parents beagle. My labs just laugh at it

We had one for my basset hound. It worked great, after training she never went past the fence. Even chasing racoons, squirrels, rabbits, cats and the occasional deer through the yard.

We had it installed and the guy explained/helped us train the dog etc. Even when if the batteries wore out on the collar she wouldnt cross the line.

I dont have any experience with the jumping/fence issue. The basset was too short to get close to jumping a fence
