Holiday Chukar, Huns or Quail?
« on: December 30, 2009, 09:41:02 AM »
Anyone been having any luck with upland birds in Central Washington over the holidays?  We are planning a two day hunt after New Years and would appreciate any reports on bird numbers and conditions.

Need to get Otis (GSP) and Sage (GWP) out again before the season is over!!

Hey Phantom,

I think my son and I are going to do the same thing, but haven't heard of anything. I think I am going to try over around Moses Lake and maybe up towards Wenatchee. By the way my dad named his GWP Sage.

Here is he is with my son when he shot his first blue grouse.

My brother and I were over there a couple weeks ago. We flushed up several quail, mostly singles, doubles, triples, and one pheasant. Unfortunately my shooting skills seemed to be in the toilet that day! :bash:
So, we are going back for redemption on friday. Hope you have good shooting over the holiday!

ps...Nice looking dog, Sportfury!

Sportfury,

Nice looking picture of Sage!!   :)

Here's a picture of Otis in ND a few years ago!

Good luck with your hunt!

Phantom,

As you no I went out last night and there is 5 to 6 inches of snow and most of the birds have been pushed down. They are calling for 5 to 8 up here starting today and running thru new years. It's up to you if you still want to come. You didn't say any thing about pheasant, you only said, chuckers, huns and quail.  :chuckle:
