Evening Hunting????
« on: December 17, 2009, 03:42:32 PM »
Just wondering about hunting the evening. I have never tried it. I usually hunt till noon or so and call it a day. I am always spooking lots of birds off the water in the dark when I show up in the am to set my spread. I work 2am - 12pm,so I have lots of evening time to hunt. Just wondering if I would have any success hunting the evenings???  Thanks Guys.

Yesterday we bagged 17 mallards and one pintail drake in the PM.  nailed that pintail at 4:06PM.  A week ago Friday we got 21 mallards in the PM.  Same field both times.

I perfer the morning vice the evening, but thats just my personal preference. I dont think either is better or worse than the other.  :twocents:  But definately worth a try.

I dont do it as often, but in college we'd slay the green heads in the evening, latter in the season.

I do very good in the evenning hunts.  If you only have select days, pick those that are nasty out.  They will be coming off the big water early.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!
