I shot a hen with a foot missing on saturday. all she had left was a nub big enough to hold the band that she was wearing in place!
Just wondering if it was a nub when she was banded or if some big largemouth saw a shiny glimmer on an orange leg and grabbed her foot!

H2O ... Its funny you asked this...I have seen a few with feet like this and its always the hens!! I don't remember seeing a Drake like this ever...if I had to guess, I would say birth defect. Maybe while in the egg, something happened to it
but who knows!.

I have chickens that get that almost every year. It is from frostbite or there feet getting wet and they freeze and they fall off.
