Rumors
« on: December 14, 2009, 09:48:53 PM »
Just wondering if anybody has heard any rumors or seen for themselves any HUGE bulls this year, you know, ones that will be talked about for years to come, or heard of any that guys just couldnt get close enough to, always fun to hear what was seen out there, for example, when i was at the oak creek station a couple days ago, a guy was tellin a story of a 400+ bull on bethel ridge but nobody could get a shot off  :dunno:  anyway, lets hear it guys

we called in a ton of big bulls this year, it was a great year for antler growth.  One in particular that I found was in the high 300's and in a very remote area, I saw him across a canyon up on a nasty ridge with half a dozen cows and buglin is head off.  It would have been a three + hour hike just to get into the area he was, but he was awsome.  If I happen to draw that tag next season, he is #1 on the hit list for next season.

did you see him on the last day, is that why you didnt go after him?

I had my elk season cut short - way short - like going-home-after-two-days short  :bash:.  In those first 48 hours we biked in 10 miles on the Oregon coast and got into some incredible action on a 300+ herd bull and a handfull of 5's and 6's.  It was the making of a great season.  Next fall, we'll be back in there.  Killed my first elk on Bethel Ridge when I was 15.  What I'd do to hunt that area again now!

There is a guy here in Ellensburg that got drawn for the only rifle tag to hunt the rut in the 328, for an any  bull permit. He had 5 days to hunt just after archery season ended. He shot a 390 in. bull I havent seen a picture of it yet but it is the talk around town. His name is Bryan Nash.

Squeeze, I saw him late in the afternoon, and the client didn't have what it takes to go after him the next day if ya know what I mean.  I would have loved to have gone after him, but I'm not gonna carry a guy in a backpack up the mtn. either. :chuckle:
