When I CC, it's single stack.
Kahr makes excelllent lightweight pistols and the narrowest profile available.
9mm,40, and 45acp.
Mine is Kahr PM9,
Don't rule out a snub revolver...SW642 is about perfect.

Shorts and a Tshirt. So you will need small. That means Glock, 1911, Springfield are going to be to big or they will print.

The Ruger LCP was mentioned, compact, lightweight. The Ruger LCR is another choice but it is a revolver. Your best choices might be revolvers. Taurus makes some nice small semis like the Millennium Pro, their titanium line.
:yeah:
I have a Taurus 24/7 pro.  It's a tad big for the purpose you described probably, but it's a great gun.  If you are willing to go with a revolver that may be your best option.  You won't ever have to deal with jams/feeding issues and can find some killer deals on some great little guns.

It depends on what your comfortable with, I have used my Glock 21 SF but must admit it's too heavy and bulky for extended carry. I'm thinking about trading in My Ruger Assault rifle for a more compact design like the Springfield EMP 40cal or a colt commander. All the pistols I currently own are all full-size autos and they are just not practical for concealment if I can give you any advice go with the smallest pistol you can find in a caliber that is still adequate for self defense, a .380 in your pocket is still better than a .45 in your dresser drawer.

That's very true.  Look at what happened yesterday here in Spokane.  I talked to a guy who said his wife was in the car next to the guy that got shot during an attempted car jacking.  Guns won't do much good if they're at home.  Also agree that you should go and find one that is comfortable to you.  Go to a couple different dealers in your area and pick up as many as you can.  It doesn't matter what anyone else carries.  What we like isn't necessarily what will fit you best.   :twocents:
