Before I get going again, I was curious - is cohoho a Christmas version of a coho? :)

Quote
Come on now, your going to go out on a limb and make bold statements about Government employees and how they couldn't hold a job in the real world.  You got a great sense or knack for pissing off people really quick on this site, or is that the intent?  I have been a Gov employee for the past 27 years and can rest assured I have worked with some of the brightest people around, just like any other corporations rank and file....  Please explain to me the real world, or is this just the "World According to Axle".

My comments were aimed at stupid decision making which is obviously done by stupid people. Everything about that cougar ordeal was handled wrong. I've stated it in the past and stand by my opinion about it. Perhaps the department has too much money to play with. Perhaps they are seen as having too much play money and the fine folks in Olympia will skim off some of their funds and put them into the general fund. After all, if they have that much money to play with, then they should share.

And btw cohoho, I have not seen you chime in to defend anyone in this thread yet.

Please do keep it going, I am enjoying it greatly.  This is almost as good any other conspiracy melodrama I have seen.  But please wait till this evening when I can enjoy it over dinner, I got to get back to work to ensure your freedoms are protected....

I don't see a conspiracy anywhere. I don't even see a theory. They took a cat from a natural setting; put a fancy and very expensive collar on it, and now they are the hero according to the press - who, by the way, can't seem to think for themselves.
Everything about that article irritates me. Every action taken in that situation was expensive and unnecessary. And guess who gets to pay for all that?

Quote
Seriously, what sector of the work world are you currently employed?  Not trying to cheap shot you - just curious.  Do you have belief of the camps for unloyal Americans, trains being built in Oregon to take folks there (outside of Fairbanks)? Do you belief that big brother is keeping tabs on you at this very moment?

I don't know about these trains but it looks like you want to qualify me or get a mental image of my background and current situation to see if you are better or smarter or more qualified than I am.

My work history is long. Most of my years I worked in body shops. Refinish, body and frame, and unibody repair and replace. Some mechanical. Estimator, Production manager.
I learned the refinish side of it at the age of 15. I've worked on ranches. I've worked in house remodel. I've been a trapper. Lived in 8 different states. Hunted many states. Worked in a slaughterhouse. Harvested more deer than I can remember. Also, lots of elk, moose, caribou, bear, etc. I've butchered more animals than I can remember.
Married over 24 years. Two grown children with one grandchild on the way.
25 years after finishing high school, got an AAS degree with a 4.0 GPA.
Went through 4 back surgeries due to too much hard work.
Part of the reason I am currently unemployed is because of some idiots in WA DC that are were corrupt and screwed up the economy. They had some help from corporate crooks too. Certainly can't blame it all on the government.
Is it OK if I call "them" idiots in this case?

And now I have a question for you cohoho.
You say you work for the government and have been for 27 years. I assume by one of your posts (in which you said you had to get back to work) that you work normal hours in a day. I looked up your posts from yesterday and noticed that you made 8 posts during normal working hours while working hard for us at the same time.
Those times being: 10:03:15 AM, 10:08:39 AM, 10:12:01 AM, 10:22:42 AM, 10:29:33 AM, 11:24:02 AM, 01:12:39 PM, 03:00:47 PM

Do you get a lot of break time sir? I've never had a job where I could read a nice forum like HuntWa and make posts - all while being paid. I've had jobs where I would be fired for doing this. I'm asking, not accusing. It was you who stated you had to get back to work. Perhaps the slow economy gives you more time for this. I'm not slamming you - just a bit curious since you work so hard for the U.S. and get paid by taxes from all of us.

Or is it that my rant was so interesting and entertaining that you are willing to risk getting repremanded so you could read and reply. I would certainly like to think so! Then again, it could be labeled a conspiracy if that isn't true.  :chuckle:

I think I managed to entertain myself on this one.  :IBCOOL:

Um Axle, I think he meant to put more emphasis on the word melodrama than the word conspiracy. :chuckle:

Was there any info on the technology used in the tracking collar? Brand etc? i think its curious that they used this kind of tech. There are MANY places that have no cell coverage.  Maybe this was their first use of this kind of tech?

I think its funny when any of us slam another group for being "stupid" there is always some one who thinks you are talking to them... Funny, I have never felt that way, I must be arrogant!  :IBCOOL:
