What we need are Tribal guys in the Methow chasing wolves.

Yak Ind asked me about that, and I didn't know the regs in regards to where they stand with the feds.  I wouldn't mind having the nickname wolf whisperer as well.  ;)

I am pretty sure that is a "traditionally hunted animal" for this region.  Far more "traditional" than elk on this side of the state... ???

Since when have the tribes cared where they stand with the feds on fishing or hunting issues?  If wolves had a little more personal "trophy" status maybe they'd be hunting them. :twocents:

Not to thread jack or take away from a thread about his deer, but some Indian hunters are law abiding and very much do care about the health of our deer herd.  Typical of any population in almost any aspect, there are a few that are selfish and have no concern.
