I wonder if anyone makes a small tracking device that you could put in your tree stands/trail cameras that would be cost effective? I heard that shipping companies are using RFID tags to track where delivery trucks are going. Maybe there is something similar that we could use to track down stolen equipment? Or would it be too expensive to put these on stands/trailcams?

I looked for some tracking devices like that for a past employer and nobody has anything like that. The ones the security stores and the police use only send a signal when it leaves a certain radius. I think it would be so much nicer if you had one that would give a signal on command.

We have something like that on our Company issue BlackBerrys. When the GPS app is on the Boss gets an alarm if we cross a given "fence line" in an assigned time slot. Example, if a driver starts their route too early or goes to far out of their patrol area the boss gets a page. Or if we park for longer than 35 minutes (5 minutes over break time) It can locate us to within 9 feet.  Kind of Big Brothery but if I fall down a stairway or get jumped and lose the fight someone will come find me.

Maybe there is a market for something to make your treestand impossible to collapse/take apart?
