Who ya gonna call? Skybusters!
« on: December 20, 2009, 01:48:44 PM »
Hunted the mouth of the Stillaquamish this morning. Snow's were flying thick... and high. Didn't stop the yahoos in a couple setups from shooting at them. No hope in hell of hitting them but they shoot and ruin anybody elses chances of having them come down. Same for the few sets of ducks that were around. If you have no idea what the killing range is on your gun please hang it up! They probably brag about how many shots they got for their empty bag.  Shooting at 'em just makes them smarter guys! Sorry for the negative thread but I'm sick of it! >:(

I think this year is a record for the amount of sky busters, they're everywhere, they must be new and not have a clue.I'm talking 150 yard shots (super duper triple flippin 3 1/2 in. nitro nickle plated heavy shot magnums aren't going to go that high). It sure would be nice if they would get educated before getting a licsense to hunt.

:yeah:  That's why I haven't gone up that way much. Gets to be a waste of time and get to Damn >:( when I do go up that way. Those birds have had a lot of education.

It's been good for the sporting good stores.  When some of these guys go through a 100 shells in an outing. :yike:
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I was out at the mouth of the Sakgit and the same thing. Only a few flights of birds but it was rediculous how high some guys were shooting.

I braved the tide and got away from the yahoos. Took me about an hour to walk the 300yds through the flooded cattails with floating timber everywhere...what a pain in the a$$. Was worth while though nobody else out there and I ended up getting a few birds. Would have had my limit but I had some gun issues (completely dunked it when a loag floated from under my left boot walking in)

Anyhow I had a good view of the morons  :bash:...some of the worst damn calling Ive ever heard. If you're not sure if you're any good, than you are not and your better off keeping in your pocket.

LOL! I went out with terrellwa from the duckhuntingchat forums yesterday and we were cracking up in our spread laughing at the shots other guys were taking. Now, I took my mounter what what my guide estimated to be a 65 or so yard shot. FAR HIGHER than I'd ever shoot for. However, we had blue bird skies, it was our last day in Missouri, and the snows had no intention or reason of coming down into our spread. I led that bird by a good 6-8ft too.

compare that to what I saw guys shooting at yesterday and these birds were TWICE as high, it was hillarious.

yes, part of you wants to get angry because they screw it up before the birds have a chance of decoying... but honestly, from what I have seen (I'll admit, my experience is limited on snows) there are days when the skies open up, the geese put on their oxygen masks, and shoot straight up with no interest in decoys anyways.

a couple kids I talked to yesterday told me they go through about 3 boxes a day hunting snows. I actually saw them drop a couple too, LOL. I can understand 3 boxes in the no-limit conservation states, but holy cow 3 boxes for a 4 bird limit, LOL!!  :P
