Governor sheep?
« on: December 23, 2009, 08:44:15 PM »
...anybody know anything about the 2009 governor's sheep?  I don't think I ever saw a thread about it.  Of course, it probably gets bought by a NR every year, so that might explain why.

I hear they got about 45 minutes worth. Definitely bigger sheep out there but that one flares out well, will look great on the wall, I'm assuming the guy has more than one

Not sure of other sheep areas but Lincoln, which isn't mentioned yet. Heard there are some big ones that don't hang with the main heard seen all the time. So was it over there?

We did get a ram 2 weeks ago. We held out for a long time and looked at nearly 350 rams this year.  He is not the biggest one that we found but thats not what it is about.  We were all very proud to harvest the ram.  11.5 years old with a beautiful cape and horns.

He did not come out of the linclon because the gov or raffle tags hunters can not hunt there.  Nor did he come out of anywhere around wenatchee.

Can't say I blame you wabonehntr.  All the blasting for shootin a 180's buck, you'd probably really catch hell for a 160 class ram.  Sounds like you guys hit it hard, looked at a lot of rams and took a hell of a trophy.  Any 11 1/2 year old ram is a trophy.  Well done!!!  (I'd still like to see a pic though)
