:)Never said Tikkas were the *censored*, today they are the best buy around and outperform many rifles costing much more, like Weatherbys.
LOL
Carl
I have both and they shoot very good. Bought the Tikka for my long walks in the hills, my back aint what it used to be. The Weatherby is by far the better looking gun.  :twocents: Mark

The Tikka does not necessarily outperform the Weatherby Vanguard. They both seem to shoot equally straight in my estimation.

Vanguard .223cal with a Bushnell variable scope. 40 gr V-max dime groups at 100 yds off bench.

Tikka T-3 30.06 with cheapest Leo variable scope you can buy. 180 gr at 100 yd. 1 inch high & about one inch+ groups.

Both rifles are relatively inexpensive but shoot well.

That is all you need unless you have deep pockets or get the deal of a life time from someone.

It is a nice rifle but not as nice as the Mark V. It obviously does not also have all the same features as the Mark V, the wood looks like a similar stock make. I think you were trying to make a straw man argument that it is as good quality as the Mark V. It isn't.

My statement that I have never seen one like that Mark V is a true statement. It is not a statement that they do not exist. Which could be what you are also trying to make a response to. Which would still not make my statement inacurrate.

Just saying they can look as good as the Mark V. maybe a little weaker in the action. And for me it and my budget it's a nice gun.
This one has less than 3 boxes down the pipe, I've never shot it. Picked it up from a friend for the Misses! Paid $400 as it sits.

I am sure they can look as good as any custom stock will allow but they do not come from the factory like that these days. At least as far as their website currently states. They have dropped a lot of options in the past two years. Including all stainless steel options. A total loss.

Currently own one Tikka, One Remington 700 and one Weatherby. The Remington is still the favored rifle for me. Oh and the Weatherby outshoots the other two rifles so far... Not by much on the Tikka though..

Havn't looked to see if that model is still offered. That is how it came from the factory in 70. I get to shoot a Win.70 Blackshadow in 30.06 , she says I'm to rough on guns to have a PURRTY gun.LOL

Yeah I am rough on them too. I would like to turn my Weatherby into a nice looking gun. Changing the stock out would be sufficient. I like those deep colored tones in a stock. Much like yours except darker in color tone.
