My coyote gun
«
on:
December 27, 2009, 02:58:38 PM »
A couple months ago I was leaving the truck to set up on calling and I noticed the camo duck tape on the floor of the back seat. I thought why not so I spent a couple minutes taping up my Stevens 22-250. The next time I went out with the guys coyote hunting my buddie had to comment on how ugly it looked. We went out hunting a few more times before he had enough and told me to take the tape off or he would take it home and paint it. I told him to have at it so I left it with him. It has been two weeks and he says it should be done by next week. He also said that he had to order more pink paint.
I guess we will see how it looks and I'll post some pics when I get it back. For now I have been using my 300 win mag with 110 grain sprn hand loads. I am interested to see how quick it puts a yote down but opportunity didn't come for me yesterday.

Talked to him a few minutes ago and he said that the paint job looks great and it sat to dry for four days. Last night he gave it a test- rubbing water on it and it failed. I guess the paint didn't come off at all but it started getting sticky so he put a couple coats of lacquer for added protection. He will get it back to me tonight or tomorrow so I will post pics then. I can't wait.
He is not a member here although I've tried to get him on. He also promised it wasn't pink.

It's done! I'm excited. The pics make it look a little lighter than it is.
