I was on the lookout for long legged coyotes today but only found the short legged version.  Coincidentally, everywhere where people have spotted wolves, there aren't any deer. :(

Its good thing sometime when snow is deep and it only show short legged! Better shoot!  :chuckle:

You are correct, its just coincidence. Today's loving, playful canines are vegans.

I knew it! I just knew it. Our game managers would not want the woods of our state meaner then the  :tree1: that inhabit 90% of our state. I heard these wolves only eat granola, and drink lattes.  :chuckle: :chuckle:

The WDFW will be passing out high powered dog bone launchers at the sportsman show this year as a way to promote the wolves as people friendly wildlife and kick off the tourist boom. :chuckle: :chuckle:

Won't be long till the shredded spandex competitions start. Comparing from state to state which bunny humpers got ripped up the worst. :yike: Won't take long when the prey starts running real low, wonder what will then be on defenders of wdfw web site, "Woods Closed due to Wolf Slaying's" or "carry big stick, but do not hurt the wolves"! :bfg:

Pretty sweet find Idabooner/Bone. From reading your post and from our talks during my visit, I can guess where they are at.

I am excited to see them one of these days... ;)

Thanks for posting Idabooner~!

Oh I love it! You mean the mountain bikers running mach II through the forest service roads and trails that we have a vehicle speed limit of 25mph on?

Those bike riders will be fun toy/challenges for big doggies to chase.  :chuckle:

Hey now do not be dissin the lattes! That is hitting below the belt.

I would bring my lattes over and watch wolves with Idabooner and Bone any day if I could. Instead I just enjoy the pics, lol.
Thank you both

The wolves were back and made a kill this morning, I just missed the take down by a few minuets. I had at least one wolf in the scope for 1 hour and 55 minuets.  There were 4 total, no collars, I will number them by peck order so it's easier to keep track of their activity's.
As the sun comes up and hits the open side hill it's very easy to see whats over there from my big window so every morning I check it out, the deer have been gathering a few more every day for a week, the green is just starting to show as the snow melts. I talked to Boneaddict the other day and he told me when he tangled with the wolf a few years ago the deer were in a tight bunch, from prior experience I've been watching for the eagles.
I spotted the deer, 38 of them in a loose bunch up in the rocky part that I never seen them graze in before, there was a lot of hill to the left that they are usually on but not this morning, with the bino's I rechecked my count and was putting them away when I notice an eagle circling straight across, and sitting there was a wolf #2 big as day, I screemed at my wife to set the spotting scope up, 50 ft. around to the right was #1 ripping on a deer carcass, in a while #2 kept edging up until #1 accepted him at the kill, about that time #3 showed up but stayed back. Soon there was 3 bald and one golden eagles, lots of magpies and ravens harassing the wolves, a wolf would make a run at the eagle and some one else would get a few bites before he got back. #1 made a run at the golden which gave him some trouble, #2 got a big chunk of meat and went down hill with it but the eagles gave him so much trouble he carried it around the hill 200 yds. to a thick brushy creek bottom behind a guys house. #3 had managed to get a smaller piece away and eat some of it before one of two eagles got it. #4 had showed up by now, #1 got what looked like a quarter, It was big and had a leg and hoof on it, he carried it into the same brush to get away from the birds. #3 and #4 were ripping on what was left along with fighting with the eagles, #3 got a big chunk and headed for the brush, the golden eagle claimed the carcass, #4 would make a run at him but couldn't win by himself so he just went towards the brush and sit on the hill while the birds got their fill.  A wolf, #2? come out of the brush and chased #4 around on the hill awhile, finally went to the kill, the eagles were full by that time and let him claim it, after awhile #4 kept getting closer until he was accepted, the two made short work of what was left and wondered back to the brush, the eagles carried what looked like pieces of guts off and the smaller birds took over.  I had to be gone for an hour, when I got back there was nothing I could see with the spotter, not even a magpie. Sure wish Boneaddict could have been here with his camera.

The brush is so thick where the wolves took the carcass to get away from the birds no man would ever go there so nobody would ever find the bones from the kill.  That explains to me why, a few years ago I watched 2 wolves work a deer out of the bunch and herd it into the creek bottom before they made the kill, they were very methodical about it and I couldn't figure why.

Well, we almost predicted them showing up.   If I hadn't been working, I would have been in the valley today.   UNREAL!   Maybe I'll get lucky one of these days.  I have an idea where they were at from your description.   *censored*S!  NEAT that you got to watch it all unfold.  I'd love to get a photo of a big golden flaring at a wolf.  PRICELESS.

eastside boy, if Boneaddict says those are wolves than they are wolves.   Considering he has been a member of this site from the beginning and has 2 1/2 years on you.  He has formed a reputation on this site.

Well.......what do you think the odds are that they are actually Wolves,  anything less than 100% is B.S.

So considering you were not there to see these coyotes through the spotting scope and take the pictures "in person" can you 100% say these are coyotes?  If not than anything less than 100% is BS!

You sure are trolling.  Makes me wonder what your problem is?  You fall off the top bunk and hit your head?  Or is it just pure entertainment for you to stir the pot and call people out that you don't even know?  Are you trying to prove something with all your smarty pants comments?  Or are you just looking for attention?
