I agree dwashington, I questioned the profile myself.  Problem is, I assume the cute little coyote on the left wouldn't be hanging with the long legged wolves in the middle and the alpha male on the right which obviously is not a coyote.  I therefore figured it was one of this years young.

and fishnate, I hope that remark wasn't made for me.

First of all in this picture people,  Remember 4 of pups are only 8-9 months old. Same size as Coyotes but Long leg. And one with darker color must look like Alpa Male BIG FACE!
I dont understand Scott Fitkin's project. He recollared TWO and Bone said NO COLLARED!  Let me correct with you Bone, Did you really look harder? Because  Collared is about 4"by 4" Black solid. Hairly could cover it when its winter.
Maybe Mother of this pack arent in Pic. She one of SMARTEST Wolf than ANY you know of. She know when your looking at her pack. She gone! Male should have collared should be able to have Bone to see it but Hairly fuffly might hard to show.

People might not see this pic before TrailCamera Caught up Elbow Canyon in Okanagon County Recently Fall. Pup look smaller A LOT same Coyote but u gotta to see yourself people.

eastsideBoy and killermiller, Hmmm, how can anyone comment on anything you have said so far?  Except to say, you two were really showing your smarts last night. Too much Miller?

Wolfbait, why is it that when I say nothing you have to "Attack" like the wolf that you are?  Is it "killing for fun"?  It is interesting though.  As far as the pictures go, I was only interested in seeing if "Bone" had better quality photos, like the Bobcat pics. :)  As far as the miller goes, much rather have Busch and Wisers. :P

I didn't see any.  I tried to pick it out in the pics but couldn't.  I spent most of my time trying to get to them though.  Idabooner spent a couple hours watching them hunt, frolick and play wolf games and he didn't note a collar.  I am not sure if he was looking or not for one.  You might be right aboutthe female.  Hers is more visible I'd believe.  Again, I would have gotten better shots if my family wasn't sitting there waiting for me.  I got into ground zero but they were gone.  I'd have waited on them and they would have shown back up.  Then I could have gotten some better pics.

I saw 13 wolves this summer and not a one of them had a collar :dunno: Could be wdfw don't want to many running around with collars that way they can claim that the wolves all migrated here via the red legged wolf trail. ;)

No KM, you got what I had.  I tried.  Family was more pressing as it should be.  If I had all winter off, I am sure you'd have gotten better shots by now.  Still might.  Antlers interest me way more than predators.  Even with a cougar tag in my pocket, I'd rather search out and watch huge muledeer.   Basically since the wolves have absolutely trimmed the deer population in that area, I don't :waste" much of my time there looking for bucks.  It used to be where I would go.  I do have a job, I do have family, so my time is limited.  You guys see what I see.  I don't ration out pics throughout the year, I try to post them as fast as I can.  THat being said, I still have a bunch to process and post for you, not of the wolves though.  In the meantime, basketball with my girls, and when I do get to the valley visiting with my Father, does have more priority than wildlife.  Then when I am home I'll negotiate with the Mrs. for time to post pics for you.

Curious about that female Mule.   Idabooner thought he saw 8 at one time and my wife swears it.  I know Idabooner watched the young male try to get frisky with a female and thats when he put him down and stood over him.  I'm not sure how that works out in pack hierarchy inregards to breeding etc.  If he would be frisky with a younger female and the alpha would pay that attention, or if the alpha female was there.

The head and shoulders on that alpha male are amazing.

Bone, I am glad you arent stupid to shoot. Maybe getting smarter next time if you got to learn where USFWS sitting around in this area.   :yike:  Jim B (SEGT) WHO LOVES WOLVES PACKS WORKING WITH USFWS to watch this pack HARDER in okanagon County and USFWS get paid FULL TIME watcher all fall and winter to make sure 3rd litter made it! I have passed him three times this winter.  I would hate to see you in Court for $600,000.00 FINE for 6 Wolves if you shoot and you might end up 6 years JAIL time depend on JURY! Because Each WOLF you got CAUGHT would be one year jail for one WOLF.
Jim B will WRITE EVERYTHING ON CLOUD ALL OVER IN WASHINGTON ON WHAT YOU DID if you got Caught. I am glad you didnt.  :'(

If I was you I wouldnt want to deal with this. Let WDFW deal with this problem! and I have family to be responsible for.

I wouldnt want to scare you people off and stop shoot them but just be careful! Do what you think and THINK TWICE Before you pull TRIGGER! Make sure this area is safe to pull trigger on coyotes. If you shoot Female Collared, USFWS WILL HUNT YOU DOWN! Because they will keep tracking on his collar daily to make sure she is alive. And its only ONE they are following harder and easy to be in right local. If there is 150 Wolves I wouldnt worry. But only one pack. USFWS are sitting at one spot and you might walk by him one day.

I'll have to admit I agree with eastside boy in that I can't look at those pics and say I'm 100% positive those are wolves.  My first thought when I saw the pics was it looked like coyotes to me.

No worries Mule, you'd  lose everything if you shot one of those buggers.  In this particular spot there are probably a half a dozen spotters on the hill at any given time.  Some of those folks would applaud you, but some would hang you.  I'll let Eastside shoot them.  If some of these guys are that confident in what they are killing, I say go for it.  The Methow could use a few less "coyotes" as well.

I agree Lowe, if I saw the one to the left and he was by himself, I'd probably be in prison now.  Kinda spooky really.
