right now i shoot a 870 wingmaster but want to get a auto. just wondering what auto you guys have had the best luck with as far as dependability and durability are concerned. the new vinci looks to possibly be it but seems kinda spendy

I have had my SX3 for 2 weeks now and absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone looking for an autoloader

Im in the same position as Ridgefire, have shot an 870 virtually my whole life.  Shoot well with it, but several "hardcore" buds shoot SX3's and are trying to sway me to one.  For those of you who have them, do you have the 3" or 3.5"?  26" or 28"?
I have heard nothing but high praise for these guns, but they dont give them away.  Friends keep saying "you wont regret it"  but hey, I dont think I have ever regretted a gun purchase.  But I can buy 4 870's for the price of the SX3!!!

I have shot a Browning BPS for 15 years and an 870 for the last 30 seasons and really like the pump guns.  My next one is going to be an auto.  I can't afford the spendy ones so I'll probably get a Stoeger, Charles Daly or an H&R when the time comes.  I've talked with guys that have them and really like them.  If you have a gunshop/gunsmith you trust, you could always go with a good used one that's a few years old. :)  :)

You should get a benelli. I just got a left hand M2 and it is one awsome gun! Yeah I guess it kicks a little bit for a semi, but I would be willing to bet the inertia system is one of the most reliable ones there are.

Only problem is you'll need to buy more shells because the benelli's like to eat! :chuckle:

I also have a Winchester SX2 that I am going to throw up for sale.  I am going to try out one of the Beretta Extreme 2 for next season.  Currently have the Benelli SBEII, but have been having some neck issues and I shot the Beretta and it didn't seem to bother me.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I have a 26" barrel on my SX3.  I usually shoot 3" 1 3/8 ounce #2 shells.  Caliber, your friends are right, you will not regret buying one.  While you can buy 3 or 4 870s for the price of a SX3, the SX3 is an investment that will last many years and averaged out the initial purchase price will seem small.  The 870 is a bulletproof pump gun.  If you want a bulletproof semi auto, you will be spending a good bit of money.  Do you need an autoloader? No.  Are they nice to have?  Yes.  That is all that it comes down to.
