gadwall: Let me make a recommendation. I have pump shotguns but also wanted to go semi-auto. Stoeger is a good gun but I didn't get one only because of the recoil - Inertia guns have more kick. So, I purchased one of the new Weatherby SA08 Semi-Auto guns. They like so many today are Turkish made but Weatherby has the Turkish factory make it to their specifications. I am very impressed with the gun considering the price. I paid just under $489 for it at Outdoor Emporium in Seattle. It's their synthetic model. The camo and wooden models are a little more. The reviews on the gun are great and I think it should hold up under extreme conditions. Is it a Beretta or Benelli? No, but it's a darn good gun and great value.

I have the Beretta Extrema2 and love it. It will be my go to shotgun for a long time. I like it so much I use it for upland birds most days although it is a little heavy to pack up and down chukar hills all day.

My cousin shoots a winchester sx3 and has had great luck with it. I've shot it and it comes right up to the shoulder comfortably, almost no recoil and has never failed him. I'm an 870 man myself.

Like most everyone else I too have shot a 870 for close to 40 years. When I looked for a new gun to shoot 3 1/2" shells I went to the 11-87 Super Mag. It is based on the 870 in stock drop and feels just like the old favorite 870. Right out of the box I was shooting it as well as the old gun.

I can recommend what not to get.   do not get the new remington 887, its a piece of $#!T.  if anyone disagrees, mine is for sale, it does work, so far anyways, only 12 shots or less so far. only two weeks old.

I would get an M2 over the vinci
Why?
Well I guess I am just partial to the M2 because I am left handed and they dont make the Vinci left handed. But really, the vinci does cost a little more, and is probably the ugliest shotgun ever made (I know, I know, its a duck gun, but still.) I guess the vinci would be a little easier to clean, not that any of the benelli's are tough to clean.

I can relate as I shoot left handed also. FWIW,  I agree w/you about the Vinci™.

i've seen a remington870 quit out from the weather while my nova kept cycling just fine

i've seen a  mossberg crap out from sand while my nova kept going strong.

any gun is a good gun. i want two of each, just saying what i've seen.
"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

Loving life in the Great Northwest one day at a time.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.
