Leupold Alumina?

I just got a new leupold 6x18x40 for predators and was wondering if the alumina that leupld puts out is a good buy? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you--Bugaboo

If you are talking about the scope caps that you thread on, then absolutely.  As for a good buy, I don't know.  They are pricey, but ten times the quality as Butler Creek.  I'm  not totally up to date on all the new Leupold stuff, but I think the scope you're talking about is a VX2.  I know that newer VX3 scopes accept the threaded covers, but not sure about the model you have.  By now, I'm sure they do.

The alumina scope caps are the best caps you can buy for your Leupold scope! I own 3 Leupold VX-3's and they all sport the Alumina caps they are a little expensive but well worth it in the long run.  :twocents:

I run a BLR 300 short mag with a VXL 3.5-12 x 50 series so I had to run the Alimina series with the front retical shape.
Id rather have no caps than have Butler creeks, but the Aluminas are very nice. I love the screw on rear. The front on a VXL series cap is not screw on because of the shape but even with a magnum I have had great luck with it staying put.  I got em off this sites classifieds for 50 bucks for the set brand new. Great deal.
