Question for the taxis
« on: December 28, 2009, 06:45:24 PM »
How would I go about getting a should mount done for a buck I shot a few years ago.  I don't have the tag anymore.  It was attached to the rack but it's no longer there.  Any possibilities??

I asked fish and game about this scenerio. They told me to get name, address, and wild ID# of the person that it was being mounted for. They also told me to observe what the rack looked like, meaning if it looked fresh, then to be on the cautious side and report it. If it looked like an old rack then it probably was an old rack.

Another thing that you can do if you reported it when you harvested it, I would say that it would be enough info. With the other info that needs to be provided.

The tag is technically supposed to stay with the meat.

If it has been within the past 8 years , they should be able to pull it up in the computer. If not then I take the Wild ID , drivers license # ,address, phone number , gmu / county taken in, and have the person write a letter saying they llegally harversted the animal in the year it was killed , and also the weapon type.

MAGhunter,

If the buck was killed in washington WDFG should have all Doc# of file for the past 8 years.  I just had a customer of mine call in and get his Doc# a few weeks ago.  Just call WDFW and give them your Wild ID # along with the year it was killed.  They may ask your name and all that to just to varify you are who you say you are.  They will give you your Doc# off your Deer Tag for that year.
