Some recovered 85 gr TSX's from a 240 Wby Mag.....
« on: December 30, 2009, 12:37:06 PM »
Was able to recover 2 boolits from my Idaho Whitey this year. Ones perfect, ones not. Bought some 80 TTSX's to load up, maybe if I push em faster, they'll hold together better. grin....

What did you hit that had the one bullet lose all it's petals?
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

Shot was around 80 yards. give or take, first was a quartering away, lodged on the opposite side rib cage, spun him, next one caught him quartering to, lodging about 2'' from the first boolit. Barnes are far from perfect as some may claim. Dead is dead, but they are far from "the end all boolit". Think I'll try em another year or 2. Wish Sirocco's came in more weights and options.....

Heres my Blacktail from this year. Same combo, distance, that is the exit hole you see. Same diameter as the entrance, not sure if it even opened up, which they're known to do...

i had Barnes not open up on a bear i shot. i shoot accubonds now. Barnes are a very accurate bullet and ive taken a few deer with them but losing that bear was it for me.
No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.

This years Montucky.240 85 TSX combo, jumped the buck, he was cuttin tracks, but not fast enough. Spine shot, opened up for sure, ruined about a foot of backstraps...

Ya littlebuff, I think the TTSX's will fix the not opening up problem. I'd try em in the 240 and 257, but I don't like their offerings. I'll either run accubombs or Siroccos' in the 300 Roy though, whichever shoots best....
