jumped em'
« on: December 30, 2009, 12:40:21 PM »
I try not to disturb game much when I am out there.  You'll note I use extension tubes, long lens and the pics tend to be alot granier this time of year.   Well ometimes it doesn't work.  I found this spot this fall and knew it looked bucklike.   I approached it and all of a sudden out of this little pocket 8 bucks jumped up.  Four went left and disappeared and four went up the hill.   The biggest ones went up as you see, so those were the ones I concentrated on.  They made their way slowly out of site while I tried to follow just to get an angle.  The others finally appeared behind me and were smaller so I made a good choice.

Very cool pics, and sometimes you can not help but bump em when they are bedded down.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

About gave me a heart attack in that big sage.  I was afraid I'd miss them on film.   It was early morning yet and real piss poor lighting.  Some aren't the best but I will get them on here.  I was glad to see two of these bucks as it was pretty lean.  Granted I didn't have much time with the family in tow, but I was amazed at the acute lack of big bucks.  I think the late tag holders did well.

LMAO, Thankfully I don't think that is possible.

Here is a perspective shot for you.  key in on the little guy in both pics.  This is where they were at.  The big one on the bottom disappeared in the sage for the longest time.  It was cool to have two good ones.

There was an acute lack of them.  I am hoping its because there isn't much snow so they have pulled back a bunch, and not that the tag holders thinned them out.

I'm glad you guys like them.  One of my deals is that say for these guys I snapped 75 pictures...many are repeated as I try different focuses and slightly different turns.  Some are similiar.  I might process one then find another that was focused better, or that might show more the the deer.   I do these in such mass to you guys that I basically bring up the pic, resize it, make minor adjustments, throw on initials or my name and upload it and post it.  Then I move onto the next pic.  Sometimes I might have two or three threads going, and the Mrs is screaming. LOL

Bone, I don't know how you do it but it is great to see young guys grow up and do what you are doing for the hunters and photographers in our great state of Washington.100's of hours you have spent to get some great pics for us to see, and enjoy looking at and commenting on them. Hows the Mrs. and the little guys doing at home?  :)

Thanks!   The Mrs is crabbier than heck, go figure.  I went to log on and she exploded.  We spent the last 4 hours riding side by side in the car, apparantly that time wasn't sufficient for talking. :chuckle:   The kids are great.  Santa tried really hard to make a great Christmas for them.  I had all three of my kids for a week.  That was awesome. I spent a weeks vacation with them only sneaking out a couple times.  It was good.  Now back to the real world.
