Hawg Quest - Rogue
« on: December 30, 2009, 10:23:31 PM »
Anybody catch this week's episode of Hawg Quest, doing a float trip on the lower Rogue?  I hate to acknowledge anything from the State of Oregon, but that's one cool river.  One of the better fishing shows I've seen.

Havent seen that one... I like to watch that show because its more local than anything else thats on tv but it seems to me that they never really show you much... just them reeling in fish. I just wish they showed a little more technique/ rigs etc

Glen did the trip with three generations of Wooldridge's...apparently the great grandpa (deceased founder of the boat company) was the first guy to take a boat down the lower river, and he and his buddies later blasted a few of the nasty sections so you could pass.  Can't remember the names of where they blasted, but I know they went through Mule Canyon...that could have been one of the spots.  They even had some vintage footage of the old man running a long dory style boat upriver...damn cool.
