I saw a pic of one in a magazine long ago. It was a basic feeder type that had bungee cords stretched back and forth to knock the LOOSE antlers off. The explanation with using bungee was that if the antlers were not ready to come off it wouldn't take them off prematurely.

great ideas, thanks again.  I have also seen pics of tires hanging from a tree but was concerned about them getting stuck on the deer

Just stopped by the lazy B scrape wood area on the way home and got enough plywood to make 4 of them and 4 2x4's I will post some picture's when I set them up at the cabin in Winthrop.

I  think I'm going to make one of those and put it over by my cabin. I figure I can make one for under 70 bucks, I'm sure not going to buy one for a few hundred if I can make it myself. Thanks for posting the link coriantonk.
